NORTH VERNON, Ind. – While on patrol last Thursday, deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office came into contact with two subjects walking in the area of Country Manor Street and Heathglen Circle, in Country Squire Lakes, in North Vernon. The two men were identified as Lennon Couch and Ricky West Jr.
While conversing with them, deputies say they noticed a large bulge in West’s pants pocket. Officers say the object in the pocket turned out to be a handgun. During an investigation, it was discovered that West was also a convicted felon.
The handgun was secured as evidence, and West was taken into custody for possession of a handgun without a permit by a convicted felon, which is a level 5 felony.
