A simpler time…

Today was a day of many firsts for me! My first blog post, and more importantly my first trip to Zaharako’s here in beautiful downtown Columbus. The atmosphere of the olde-fashioned soda shoppe [see what I did there…?] hearkens back to a simpler time in our zeitgeist and offers a sense of wonderment, from the Tiffany-style chandelier and marble soda fountains to the whimsical tables and music of the Welte orchestrian. I would love to go back in time to spend a week in the decade that Zaharako’s opened – the early 1900s. Just to talk with the people and enjoy the latest in soda shoppe wonders.

Also, why is it that when you have ice cream, you just want to mush it around to create ice cream soup? Or is it just me? I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
