Theme for the Summer Reading Challenge is Build a Better World.  Those participating will be challenged to learn a new hobby, read outside their comfort zone, volunteer, and more.  Lots of exciting programs all summer long.  Prizes awarded for completing challenges and for attending library programs.  Kickoff is at the Literacy Festival at Central Middle School, noon to 3 PM on May 13.

On Saturday, May 27th, the Franklin American Legion will be placing American flags on the graves of veterans in honor of Memorial Day, starting at 10:00 am. A short program with a rifle salute and taps will follow.
