Brazilian-born cellist Leonardo Altino performs Dvořák’s rhapsodic Cello Concerto, an exquisite tribute to a dying first love. Unfolding like a wild ride, Tchaikovsky’s familiar masterpiece Symphony No. 5 inspires rapturous applause with roaring cheers and dancing feet. Rising Voices: Lakota Language Revitalization

Naomi Last Horse, a Lakota speaker, will introduce the 2015 documentary film Rising Voices and answer questions after the showing.  The film documents the Lakota Language Consortium’s work with Lakota language revitalization.  Ms. Last Horse lives in South Dakota, where she works as a teacher and language advocate.  Program is organized by The Language Conservancy, a non-profit dedicated to Native American language revitalization based in Bloomington, and is funded through the support of Heritage Fund – The Community Foundation of…
