Promoting old time artisan arts such as knitting, crochet, spinning yarns, weaving, baskets, rugs. Workshop sign ups on website www.hoosierhillsfiberfestival.com We encourage use of natural fibers from sheep, goats, alpaca, rabbits, and llama. Vendors marketplace includes fiber and wool from all of these animals. Demonstrations will be going on during the festival. Parking and admission is free.

Food for Fines June 5-17

Pay overdue fines by donating non-perishable food items.  For every dollar owed in fines at least one food item must be donated.  Food for Fines is not available to customers with damaged or lost materials. Individuals without library fines wishing to donate food items may do so at any library location. Items most needed by the food pantries include canned fruit, canned meats, mac and cheese, peanut butter, pasta, cereal and oatmeal.  Food will go to Love Chapel and the Hope Food Pantry.

From April 6, 2017 through Nov 11, 2018, the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the First World War. With several installations and exhibitions available in our public spaces, the ISMHS will explore Indiana’s contributions to the war effort. Along with the personal and political sacrifices Hoosiers made – visitors will learn more about this challenging historical period, as well as honoring Indiana’s veterans.
