Pioneer Days: A Tale of Two Eras

May 18th and May 19th

Come join us as we journey from Medieval Europe to the Wild, Wild West. We will travel in history from 881 Europe all the way to 1881 in the U.S. Territories; from sword fights to gun fights; the Lords and Ladies of the Society for Creative Anachronism(SCA) and friends of the Shireman Homestead Wild West Show bring you experiences to remember.

Join us as the horses of the Middle Kingdom have a jousting and archery performance(Friday only) and the Shireman Horses perform to the delight of all. Take a peek into what life would have been like in the Middle Ages in the Springtime encampment and walk among peace keepers and gunslingers of the western town. Witness a “high noon” showdown and then see warriors in armor meet in chivalrous combat. Wander through the Town of Shireman and the early village of Cuil Cholium and find the sluce mine and pan for minerals or help the coin makers strike a mint. Join other artisans and learn about many aspects of history.
Open to the public
