SEYMOUR, Ind. — The Wings Over Muscatatuck Festival is this weekend from Friday, May 12, to Sunday, May 14.

Friday programs include a birding van tour at 8 a.m. (advance reservation) and a Big Tree Walk at 1:30 p.m.

On Saturday morning, the event features a morning Bird Walk, Birdhouse Building for Kids, two guided tours to view an eagle’s nest, a hawk and eagle program with live birds, and children’s activities. A native plant sale happens all day. Lunch will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the afternoon, there will be an Owls of Indiana program with live birds, another eagle’s nest guided tour, and a program on Bats of Indiana.

The festival ends Sunday with a half-day guided tour of Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge, near Madison (pre-registration is required). Big Oaks is only open to visitors on certain days and the guided tour is a rare opportunity to experience the refuge with personnel who know it best.

All festival programs are free. For a brochure or more information, stop by the Muscatatuck Office or Visitor Center, visit the Wings Over Muscatatuck Facebook page, or email Muscatatuck@fws.gov. Register for the tours by calling 812-522-4352 (Ext. 12) or emailing Muscatatuck@fws.gov.
