Next time, seat the winners close to the stage. They know who won, they printed the envelopes and it will save time. That’s what people are still talking about when it comes to the Golden Globes, the ridiculous time it took to get winners to the stage. The Washington Post says about 10% of the show, minus the commercial time, was wasted by winners meandering through the room trying to get to the stage because they were packed in so tight. That was annoying, and so was the silence that followed just about everyone stepping up to the mic to give their acceptance speech. They just stood there. Next time, they should start the acceptance speech clock as soon as the winner’s name is called. From that second, time is ticking. if you take too long you can pick up your award backstage.
