INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – People who want to volunteer for the 2020 Columbus Walk to End Alzheimer’s have their chance to learn more information by attending the Indiana Chapter’s volunteer kickoff party on Wednesday, February 26, at the Hamilton Center Ice Arena, at 5 p.m.

Last year, Columbus raised $125,000 to support free care and free community programs, as well as research into new ways of preventing, diagnosing, and treating Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

At the kickoff, potential volunteers will learn about what it is like to be involved in the walk’s planning committee. Volunteers are needed in a number of areas, including sponsorship, recruitment, retention, and marketing. Kyle Davern, manager of the Columbus Walk to End Alzheimer’s says, “Volunteering is a great way to fight Alzheimer’s, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved.”

It is not too early to sign up for the Alzheimer’s Walk in October. Registration can be completed online.
