I am so excited for Night of 1,000 Jacks! Not only are we QMIXers helping out with the Costume Contest, but we are also entering a pumpkin patch! Here is my contribution….

Actually, at the time we took this picture I was only half way done with my masterpiece. I wanted proof of what it looked like in it’s glory in case my knife went all Fleetwood Mac and went it’s own way and screwed up my design.

I also wanted to show how GINORMOUS this pumpkin is!!! Seriously! The largest pumpkin I’ve EVER carved! Big thanks to Ben at Daily’s Farm Market for hooking us up with our pumpkins by the way :).

LOOK! I had great success! Fortunately I was able to keep my knives under control and carve what I wanted to carve! In case you can’t tell- the Q,M,I and X are carved all the way through.

I’m so excited that it turned out! I’m hoping that it will last until Saturday night. I read on the interwebs that if you spray a carved pumpkin with a bathroom cleaner with bleach it will help preserve the pumpkin as well as keep it from getting moldy. So I spent part of last night giving it a good Tilex bath.

Here’s to hoping it lasts! If not, at least we have photographic evidence….

And an ABUNDANCE of ROASTED PUMPKIN SEEDS! :)
