NORTH VERNON, Ind. – North Vernon officials remind residents that this Monday, March 21, is the anticipated start date for the Walnut Street Project.
Phase 1A begins that day with a closure of the Madison Avenue and Walnut Street intersection. With the exception of that intersection, traffic will be allowed to enter the downtown area during the 14 days of Phase 1A. Parking will be available during phase 1A only along Walnut Street and available on Madison Avenue from the Police Station to Park Theatre.
April 4 is the tentative start date for Phase 1B which will last about 90 days. No vehicular traffic will be permitted to enter the work zone on Walnut Street, from Jackson Street to Madison Avenue, during Phase 1B.
