COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County High School students are invited to apply for a full day of engaging activities designed to build leadership skills, inspire personal action. and expand the vision of a welcoming, safe, and supportive community for all. Applications for the Youth Empowerment Summit applications are now open and will close on April 1.
This free event is hosted by the Council for Youth Development (CYD), The African American Fund of Bartholomew County, Columbus Human Rights Commission, Tu Futuro, and BCSC.
One hundred local students will be selected to participate in this all-day event set for Friday, April 29, at the Columbus Learning Center. The opening program includes a welcome by Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop. The keynote speaker is Tyshaun Allen, of Taylor Bros. Construction Company, who will present on, “Finding Your Own Path to Success”.
Students will have the opportunity to rotate through three sessions facilitated by local experts.
