Bartholomew County Sheriff makes arrest in robbery investigation

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that William Carnahan, 49, of Columbus, was arrested after an investigation into a recent burglary that took place on May 23, in the 11000 block of South County Road 800W.

Members of the Intelligence-Led Policing Unit (ILPU) located evidence that led to a warrant being issued for Carnahan’s arrest.

The suspect was located in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, where he was taken into custody by local police. He is currently in a Kentucky jail and is being held for a warrant before being extradited to Indiana.

ILPU is comprised of members of the Columbus Police Department, the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office.
