COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Columbus City Council unveiled a proposed redistricting map in a meeting Monday night. The changes, if approved, will go into effect in 2024.

The proposed map is available for viewing here.

Earlier this year, the Columbus City Council voted to move from Third Class city status to Second Class status, which automatically adds two new council members, upping the total to nine.

The proposed map adds a new council district for the city. Redistricting is done every 10 years following the census.
