New officer joins CPD

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) welcomed a new officer to the ranks after he was sworn in by Mayor Jim Lienhoop during the Board of Public Works meeting held Tuesday at Columbus City Hall.

Alec McCullough (CPD #293) is a 2022 graduate of IUPUC where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He is currently taking courses at Indiana University East where he is seeking a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

After completing in-house training at the Columbus Police Department, Officer McCullough will attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield.
