COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) welcomed a new officer to the ranks after he was sworn in by Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop at the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Tuesday.

Officer Cameron Curry (CPD #294) is a graduate of Columbus East High School and a former CPD Law Enforcement Cadet. He attended Kentucky Wesleyan College where he played collegiate baseball and majored in Criminal Justice. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, Curry was hired by the Michigan State Police and was a trooper for three and one-half years.

The new recruit starts CPD’s field training program soon.
