North Vernon woman arrested for possession

NORTH VERNON, Ind. — On Saturday December 2, at approximately 3:08 a.m. deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) were dispatched to Highway 50 East near County Road 75 East in reference to a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male subject with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian, identified as Bailey Wright, 24, of North Vernon, was still on scene. Wright advised she had been traveling east when the male subject entered the roadway and she struck him.
During the investigation, Wright admitted to being under the influence of marijuana and also admitted to recently using methamphetamine. During a probable cause search of her vehicle, deputies located both substances.
The male subject was taken by ambulance to Ascension St. Vincent Jennings before being transported to a trauma center in serious condition.
Bailey Wright is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
-Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury- Level 4 Felony
-Possession of Methamphetamine- Level 6 Felony
-Possession of Marijuana- B Misdemeanor
