NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) was dispatched to a single-vehicle personal injury accident in the area of County Road 350N, near St. Anne’s Golf course, early Sunday morning.

Sobriety tests allegedly determined that the driver of the car, Michelle Sharpe, of North Vernon, was nearly three times the legal limit to drive.

Sharpe was transported to Ascension St. Vincent Jennings Hospital to be treated for minor injuries and later remanded to the Jennings County Jail on the preliminary charge of  Operating While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Content of .15 or greater.

According to JCSO, patrols have greatly increased due to the increase in DUI incidents. The sheriff says that if a deputy stops you and you are driving while intoxicated, you will go to jail.
