Columbus schedules repairs to railroad crossings

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus, Bartholomew County Emergency Management, and the Indiana Department of Transportation have announced that Legacy Excavating, LLC, has been contracted by Louisville and Indiana (L&I) Railroad Company to conduct several railroad crossing repairs in Columbus next week.

Officials with Legacy Excavating, LLC stated, “We know that this may cause some inconvenience to your everyday travels, and we seek your understanding and cooperation. Plan accordingly and use alternate routes.”

All work is weather-dependent, and in the event of inclement weather, alternative work days will occur on the next suitable day. Should you have concerns or questions, contact Legacy Excavating, LLC, at 812-799-0112.

Repair locations that are scheduled to take place are:

  • State Road 46 westbound at Third and Lindsey Streets, from 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, to 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 13
  • South Gladstone Avenue, North of Kreutzer Drive, on Tuesday, April 15, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • South Marr Road, east of South Gladstone Ave/South of Roadway Drive, on Wednesday, April 16, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
