SEYMOUR, Ind. – Officials at Valeo North America in Seymour contacted the Seymour Police Department in late January and reported that a former employee used a company credit card for personal reasons.

They also said the man had taken a company laptop computer, cell phone, and other items and would not return them. The former employee was allegedly seen removing some of the items from the plant, according to Valeo staff.

Detectives determined the suspect used the company credit card for personal reasons totaling over $9,000. The value of the other missing articles was $2,345.

On March 8, the Seymour and Columbus Police Departments executed a search warrant at a residence on Henry Drive in Columbus allegedly located the missing laptop computer and other items belonging to Valeo.

Investigators arrested James A. Persinger, 38 of Columbus, on two counts of theft, both level 6 felonies. Persinger was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
