NORTH VERNON, Ind. — On Friday, May 17, at approximately 2:40 a.m., deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Risen Savior Bible Church, 2925 East U.S. Hwy 50 in North Vernon, about a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch after a verbal altercation between a male and female.

The female informed dispatch that during the verbal argument, the male told her to exit the vehicle, at which time he entered the driver’s seat and left in the vehicle, before crashing into the ditch near the parking lot. A short time later Deputy Blake Maynard arrived on the scene. The female informed Deputy Maynard that the male had fled across an open field area behind the church. Deputy Maynard observed the male running and initiated a foot pursuit. After a lengthy foot pursuit, the male subject was detained.

The male subject was identified as Andrew Eli Saenz-Munoz, 21, of North Vernon. Andrew was transported to the hospital for a blood draw and jail clearance. Andrew was then transported to the Jennings County Jail where he is currently being held on a $1,055 bond.
