COLUMBUS, Ind. – Two separate shootings in Columbus on Sunday evening sent the Columbus Police Department (CPD) to private residences.

At around 10 p.m., CPD SWAT members responded to “shots fired” in the 4400 block of Coles Drive, in Tipton Lakes. One adult man was shot in the abdomen and flown to an Indianapolis area hospital. An adult male suspect was taken into custody.

The second shooting incident was in the 4900 block of Silver Fox Drive, but it appears no one was shot. There was only property damage. The male suspect was barricaded inside a home for a time, but eventually came out peacefully and was arrested.

The incidents were independent of one another. More details will be released later.
