COLUMBUS, Ind. – Jersey Mike’s, a sub sandwich shop based on the East Coast, is coming to Columbus.

The Jersey Mike’s website says a new store is “in development” at 1455 N National Road, near Aldi’s and Crew Car Wash. The strip mall at that site is currently anchored by the new Yummy Bowl Mongolian Stir Fry and Sushi restaurant and is also home to a nail salon, eyewear store, and hair salon.

The chain started operations in 1956 and now has over 2800 locations throughout the United States. They have 28 sandwich shops in Indiana, with the closest in Greensburg, Greenwood, and Bloomington.

The Jersey Mike’s in Columbus will compete with Penn Station, Jimmy John’s, and Subway, all on a mile-long stretch of National Road.
