COLUMBUS, Ind. – The City of Columbus has announced Jim Hartsook as the new Director of Information Technology (IT).
With an extensive background in managing and leading IT initiatives, he brings a wealth of experience that will contribute to the city’s technological advancement. He will begin his new role on Monday, February 24.
Hartsook was previously the Information Systems Manager of End-Point Services at Columbus Regional Hospital (CRH). While there, he successfully guided complex IT initiatives, including setting up 500 devices to relocate 15 medical practices to the new NexusPark location and managed the migration of over 500 users to prepare for system upgrades.
Before his role at CRH, Jim was the Director of Information Technology for Bartholomew County Government. There, he oversaw IT for over 450 users and introduced a phone system that saved the county more than $89,000 each year.
In his new role, Hartsook will work on improving the city’s IT systems, encouraging new solutions, and ensuring efficient service for the community.
He holds a B.S. in Education/Sport Enterprise Management, with a minor in marketing, from Bowling Green State University. Originally from Lebanon, Ohio, he has been a Columbus resident since 1998.
