SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they worked a fatal crash on December 31, around 2:50 p.m.
The crash reportedly occurred on North State Road 9 in the 3600 block. A white Ford F350 being driven by Roger New Jr. of Shelbyville was headed southbound on State Road 9. Investigators say it appears that New’s car crossed the center line, and made contact with another vehicle moving the opposite direction, driven by Ty Rininger, of New Palestine. The collision reportedly caused New’s vehicle to roll onto its top, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other injuries reported in the crash.
