Southern Indiana plane crash claims life of Kentucky man

CLARK COUNTY, Ind. – A Kentucky man died on Saturday afternoon in a single-engine plane accident in southern Indiana, according to Indiana State Police.

A passing motorist called 911 after spotting what appeared to be plane wreckage in a field near New Washington in Clark County. When deputies arrived, they confirmed the crash and requested assistance from Indiana State Police.

The preliminary inquiry has revealed that a Cessna Skyhawk C172 single-engine aircraft departed from Louisville and went down near New Washington. Investigators do not yet have a cause for the crash.

The pilot, and sole occupant of the plane, was identified as Joshua Warren, 30, of Louisville.
