“Mrs. Owen’s has been the highlight of my classes. Walking into chemistry I knew nothing. I was always confused and extremely frustrated. Yet Mrs. Owens found a way to make our class fun. To making flames change colors to notes you think would be boring she always found a way to draw you into her class. She’s the kind of person who believes in you. She offers free help during our advisory and makes her class understandable with such a hard subject. Mrs Owen’s is the type of teacher to just sit down and talk with you, regardless if it’s about chemistry or not. She was previously a music teacher and has a piano in her classroom she will play and sing happy birthday to people regardless if they are her student or not. She is by far one of my favorite teachers I’ve had. She’s not just a teacher to me. She’s become one of my favorite moments of my day. Even when the lessons are hard she will sit and answer the same questions until you understand the topic. She has a love for life and a love for her subject. Mrs Owen’s is extremely funny and has impacted me and my learning for the better. She deserves to be awarded for her hard work and love for teaching.”

“Mrs. Larsh is one of the best teachers that we have ever had. She goes above and beyond for each of her students. She makes sure each of her students feels loved and encourages them to succeed. She has built a class family. Mrs. Larsh also makes sure that she spends as much time with her family as well. Taking them to hockey in the winter time and travel ball in summer. “My child Henry struggles in school and very honestly disliked it. Mornings used to consist of whining and not feeling very happy to go to school. On top of trying to think of any ache or pain to not have to attend. This past summer he even said mom “I don’t want to go back to school…..can’t I just farm?” My response was obviously no! The teacher who has really helped him learn and LOVE learning is Ms. Katie Hunter. You talk about a woman who has a PASSION for teaching and a gift. She is a tremendous asset to the batesville school corporation.She could be a leader & trainer for many other teachers she makes learning FUN. I literally cannot give her enough praise and thanks for all that she does. If I could have Ms.Hunter all the way to senior year, I know he would continue to love School.”

“Mr. Freeman is the absolute best math teacher ever. He goes above and beyond to help his student thrive in his class. He goes out of his way to make sure his students are doing ok and ask if they need help in anything. He provides numerous materials that are for his students to get help at home on his own website. He created his website that you can access anytime to make sure that the kids have enough time to do it! He answer his emails straight away if you have any questions. Not only that but he is kind to others and is such a kind person. He is super understanding to special education kids and allows them to get help as well as let them go down to resource. “All three of my kids have had this man at Columbus North High school, My daughter learned a phrase from him that basically tells her no matter what she can, she’s 24 and still remembers his icon, My middle boy graduated last year and this teacher has helped him get involved in sports and get him scholarships to play these sports, he’s participated on my sons wrap team, he attended prom my sons senior year, he was at my son’s graduation and after party, my youngest boy currently has this teacher and he goes above and beyond helping me make sure my son has his daily medication at school, he’s very supportive if my son bowling and shows up to see these kids at their sports, he participates in my youngest son’s wrap often times taking his own personal time to attend, he has helped my kids get food after school when they were in band, all around this teacher goes above and beyond for all the kids in his classroom and is by far a rewarding, positive, inspiring teacher when they kids are with him or even years later he ask about my daughter and tells me how proud he is of my middkebchild after high school with his choices….he really loves kids and follows up with them even after graduation….like I say an above all around great teacher that’s impacting his students lives daily and I’m blessed my children had the opportunity to have this great teacher.”
